In October 2016, Cub Campers was awarded ‘Best Manufacturer Caravans, Camper Trailers & Tents’ at the CCIA (Caravan and Camping Industry Association) Awards of Excellence.
This is the third time in a row that Cub has received the award. As a result, we were also inducted into the CCIA Hall of Fame.
These awards celebrate the individual and collective achievements of the Caravan and Camping Industry in NSW. Judged by an independent representative, they recognise outstanding service, achievement and commitment to our industry. The awards also identify businesses and employees that demonstrate best practice in customer service, product, environmental initiatives and business success.
Shane Fagan, General Manager, is proud to head up the family-owned Aussie manufacturer. He says the award is a tribute to the hard-working team that builds Cub’s camper trailers from scratch in our North Rocks, Sydney, factory.
“I’m very proud to represent the third generation of Fagans at the helm of Cub and it is an honour to receive this award. I believe our success comes from hard work, loyal staff, continual improvement, and the fact that we manufacture our campers using predominantly Australian materials, in house at our factory in North Rocks.”
“The manufacturing world and competition has changed significantly since my father and grandfather bought Cub in 1968. But we try to be responsive to the changing demands of our customers, while continuing to build campers that are lightweight and robust. A dedicated R&D team, combined with improved technology has allowed us to modernise our designs. With outlets around Australia, Cub continues to be a very interesting and demanding business. I look forward to what’s ahead for Cub in the next 50 years!”
At the 2016 CCIA Awards, Shane’s father Roger Fagan also received an award for his longstanding commitment to the industry.
Lisa Welch, longstanding Cub employee, was also a finalist in the Employee of the Year category. Lisa is at the frontline of the Cub Campers business, handling customer queries with relaxed poise, whether over the phone, on our Facebook page, or in person. As an avid camper herself, Lisa lives and breathes the RV lifestyle. When she’s not talking about campers she’s most likely to be found enjoying the great outdoors somewhere in coastal New South Wales.
